Irisa hummed to herself as she explored the island of Vroengard while her Rider was sleeping. She sniffed at a large pool of water, and then drank from it. The water was sweet and rich, like all water that was constantly exposed to magic. She growled slightly when she heard another smaller dragon approaching. She saw the dragon quickly scurry away as she continued drinking.
Hatchlings, Irisa thought to herself, then pulled her head up, full with the fresh tasting water. She blinked a few times when she saw that the younger dragon was still there. Showing her teeth, she observed it for a moment, and then spouted a small jet of flame that barely missed the other dragon. The dragon jumped back, startled, then huffed, stomping away. Irisa rolled her eyes, annoyed.
Looking at the water, she put her two front legs in, and then dove under it. She played, chasing her tail and snapping at fish. When Irisa was done, she flew out of the water and into sky, the sun reflecting off her purple scales and making them look like gems. Irisa smiled to herself. Surely she was the most beautiful being in all of Alagaësia.

Gabriel walked through the halls of Vroengard quietly. He could feel Irisa's thoughts reverberating in the back of his mind. He could tell that she was happy. That at least was good. Gabe made his way outside into the clean fresh air and decided to go for a walk. Just what he needed to calm his mind. He had encountered a younger student early on in the day that had perturbed him to a state of anger. And they had been arguing on the proper use of dragon saddles of all things!
He looked up to see if he could spot Irisa. He saw several dragons flying above the castle but he could not find his own. He rested his hand on the hilt of his sword before reaching out to his dragon with his mind. "Where are you?" He asked quietly to her

Irisa took another dive, enjoying herself thoroughly. She plunged into the water, causing an enormous ripple effect.
Where are you? she heard Gabriel ask her.
Swimming, Irisa answered, flying out of the water again and into the air, only to dive once again. Her head swerved when she recognized another being in the water. She smiled when she saw the small turtle; wonder what turtles tasted like? Irisa swam after her prey, ending the turtle's life with a more than sufficient chomp. She immediately spit it back out, annoyed by the gruesome taste in her mouth.
Never eat turtles, Irisa told Gabriel, vile snacks[/i]

Gabriel laughed outwardly at his dragon. He found the image of the pool she was swimming at in her mind and made his way there. He found her swimming about in the water and then he saw what was left of the turtle that she had sampled. He smirked at her before sitting down on a rock and watching her. "Why would you even try to eat something that small?" He asked the purple creature.
He watched the light glittering off her scales and found himself fixated on the sight of the dancing lights. "So what shall we do today Iris?"

Irisa snorted when she realized Gabriel was coming this way. She continued swimming until he asked her why she would try to eat something that small. She poked her head out of the water, irritated. I was just curious, she said innocently, and then continued to tell Gabriel of her day, elaborating on the annoyance she felt over the younger dragon who had invaded her space. She stepped out the water, shaking her scales dry, and then turned to Gabriel when he asked what they should do.
We need a trip,[/b] she suggested. I tire of this....place full of hatchlings.

Miriel Haldan had been enjoying her walk, but the elf had experienced something rather odd that morning, and she couldn't get it off her mind. She had had the urge to wear her battle dress today. Due to the fact that she didn't plan to go into battle suddenly and without warning, she had simply compromised on wearing her little blue pendant. It reassured her as it pressed against the cool skin of her forehead, and although she hardly needed reassuring it made her feel a little happier.
Voronwer was somewhere overhead-actually, he was easy to find. You are easy to spot, Voronwer! Your scales give you away! She called up to her dragon.
I should hope that is a good thing. Her dragon's rumbling voice played through her mind. Some Riders cannot spot their dragons like that. You should be glad that I stand out.
Miriel chuckled dryly. You stick out like a sore thumb.
Voronwer sighed. I have never understood that reference. If my black scales make me so obvious, then your height does the same for you. If I ever want to find you, all I have to do is look about four feet from the ground. That means I have to put my head on the ground to even see you. You, too, stick out like a 'sore thumb.'
Miriel growled, playing with the dragon. They had these little play fights all the time. Come down here, you. I want to talk to someone, and I want you with me.
Who is it that you need to speak to that requires my protection?
Actually, Gabriel and Irisa. Voronwer just snorted at the name of the purple dragon, but Miriel watched as he fell into a dive. Oddly enough, it was aimed for the pond where she knew Irisa and Gabriel were. Narrowing her eyes, Miriel tried to stop her dragon. Voronwer, stop! Irisa won't be happy- Too late. She heard a splash, and set off running. You dunder head!
I love you too, Miriel.
Skidding to a halt, Miriel greeted Gabriel and Irisa in the traditional way, then hurried over to where Voronwer was swimming. He looked like a large black dog as he paddled around the pool. "Irisa, Gabriel, I'm sorry. Voronwer was having fun." The short elf smiled lovingly at her dragon, and he winked back. Miriel turned to address Gabriel.
She had to look up to see him.
But she continued with only a slight look of displeasure. "Gabriel. Have you noticed that the number of apprentices asking us for advice is increasing?" She shook her head, and her hair swayed back and forth slowly. "Voronwer also. What of Irisa?" The petite elf looked to the purple dragon, still rather embarrassed at Voronwer. However, the fact that she really had to look up to see Irisa sent a little shiver of annoyance down her spine.

Irisa sniffed when the other black dragon plunged into the water. She rolled her eyes.
Males[/i], she thought, touching the other dragon's mind with hers.
Did you ever learn proper manners from the Elders? I was here first....males![/b] She frowned at him as she stepped back into the water, gliding through it, her tail working as a rudder. She smiled, annoyed yet amused by the other dragon. At least it wasn't a hatchling. She bumped him playfully, her nose colliding with his neck. She turned when she heard Miriel address her and Gabriel, and growled slightly, feeling jealous, even though Miriel had done nothing but speak to Gabriel. She looked at them from the corner of her eye.
So much for quality time together she growled.

Voronwer smiled a toothy grin at Irisa. The water's fine, come on in. Besides. You got out. The small black dragon rolled so his belly was facing the sun, then back again, nudging Irisa back. However, she was much larger than him-Oh well. At least he didn't have to worry about hurting her at all. One of the apprentices asked Miriel why she had a Rider's sword today. Wanted to know why she had got one and they didn't. He snorted, and flicked his nose so he sent up a shower of water. Thought she was an apprentice. Hatchlings. He rolled his large black eyes in annoyance. I wonder when they'll learn. I know I never spoke to a Rider or his or her Dragon that way when Miriel and I were in training. It's just ridiculous.

Gabriel looked up quickly and his hand instinctivly flashed to his sword. But when he saw who it was he relaxed. He returned the traditional greeting in return to the fellow rider before he smiled at his friend Miriel as she spoke to him. He smiled at Voronwer as well as he played with Irisa. He looked at his friend and laughed a little when her dragon told him what had happened. "I wonder if its because your short." He said jokingly. He looked over at Irisa and rolled his eyes a little. "Be nice, He is only a young dragon. Try making friends for once." He said quietly to Irisa.
"I haven't had many incidents such as that." Gabriel looked back at Miriel when he spoke. "I assume this has happened more then once?"

Bah![/b] Irisa spoke to all of them. Doru Araeba has become overrun with young fools. I never wish to be an Elder. I would end up killing my apprentices. When will the Riders be sent on missions again? Perhaps the Hadarac? She questioned hopefully, looking east. She blinked a few times, then sighed, looking towards Gabirel adoringly.
Voronwer is a pretty dragon,, she paused to tell Gabriel privately. She then dove back under the water, playing. She spotted a large catfish and snapped, swallowing it whole as she explored further underwater. Exotic fish that were only found in Vroengard appeared before here, and she relayed the images to Gabriel, pleased.

"I wonder if its because your short."
Miriel's eyes narrowed unpleasantly. "Yes, it is. But you should have see the looks on their faces! Voronwer doesn't like being mistaken for a hatchling, and neither do I. Oh well."
"I haven't had many incidents such as that." Gabriel looked back at Miriel when he spoke. "I assume this has happened more then once?"
She sat down pleasantly. "They won't make the same mistake twice. Anyways, yes, it has happened on multiple occasions. I could excuse it if it was just one time, but multiple times..." She shook her head slowly. "I would give it to them the first time. Maybe the second. I am only a little over four feet tall. Four foot six. Whereas you..." The petite elf gestured helplessly. Voronwer snickered, and flicked water at his Rider as he passed, soaking her.
Like I said. You stick out like a sore thumb. His rumbling voice echoed in her head, and in Irisa's and Gabriel's. Perhaps you should wear stilts.
You're no better. They thought you were a hatchling!
They don't know better. Voronwer snorted, then flicked some water lazily at Irisa.

Gabriel sat back down on his rock and looked at his friend. "Well if it happens again, tell me." He said hoping to cheer her up. He heard the thought of his dragon in his mind and he smiled brightly at her. "Thats the spirit!"He spoke with her privately for a moment before returning to his friend. "Do you recall who the apprentices were?" He asked politely. "If you do I can have a talk with them." He spoke quickly before turning to Irisa. "Don't be so hasty in that decision. You may not want to become an elder but that dosen't mean I don't as well." He said quickly.
"So what brought you out on this fine day Miriel?" He asked polietly. He watched the two swimming dragons and smiled a little at the sight. This was the first time in quite a while that he had seen Irisa let another dragon, especially a young one so close to her. He was proud of her and she knew it too.

Irisa sprang back from out of water, then flinched slightly when the other dragon splashed her. Irisa coughed a few times, then sneezed, spouting a small jet of flame into the water. It hissed slightly from the heat, and steam rose from the water.
Have you ever tasted turtles? I heard they were quite delicious[/b] Irisa asked Voronwen with a smug smile. If he was going to splash her, then she would get him back. She sneezed again, this time with a lack of fire.
Irisa glanced at Gabriel quickly, and then looked back at the small black dragon, blinking her eyes a few times.
Why would you want to become an...Elder?Irisa asked Gabriel curiously. She snorted at his politeness to Miriel, trying her best to ignore the intruding elf. She didn't want her here. Voronwen was fine, but Miriel came to her as a threat. She didn't want to share Gabriel with anyone. Especially not....her. Looking back at Voronwen, she sighed, closing her eyes.

A smile just as smug as Irisa's touched Voronwer's lips. Actually, they are. Someone like yourself should have tried them by now. I can't believe you haven't. I'll go get you one. The small black dragon dove down into the pond, and opened his eyes in the murky blue. It was pretty down there, and he snaked his head left, then right, looking for the turtle that he was to procure for Irisa. All around him were pretty fish, and tasty fish, and he sent Miriel an impression of his happiness at the sight of all the fish. She sent one back, an image of Gabriel's face while he talked to Irisa-the faraway look in his eyes made Voronwer snort. Suddenly, he noticed the turtle-just behind him-grabbed it gently in his jaws, and brought it back up to the surface.
There. The black dragon rumbled. A fresh one, just for you. You will eat it, won't you? Or are you going to reject my little gift? The small dragon looked at Irisa with as much of puppy-dog eyes as a dragon could manage.
Miriel just snorted at Voronwer's actions. He sent her an odd emotion-picture: Swirls of pink and purple and a feeling of warmth came from the center of the image, and, surprise surprise, there say Irisa. Miriel shot a jealous glance at the purple dragon-Voronwer was HERS, and hers alone. She didn't want anyone to take him from her, especially not that grumpy dragon.
The tiny Rider was just as polite as Gabriel was when she replied, her voice slightly more formal and guarded. Gabriel was nice, but he wasn't....close to her. "I had planned to take today off so that Voronwer and I could relax." By her words 'take today off' she meant that she wouldn't spend all twenty four hours of the day training. She would just train for maybe three or four. "It's been a while, what with all the new apprentices and dragons. Vroengard has gotten quite busy lately, and I think I'd rather have it back to a bit of peace and quiet."
OOC: -giggles- You know it's VoronweR, not VoronweN, right Irisa? XD

Irisa growled lightly when Voronwer dove underwater. She hated beig outsmarted, and Voronwer didn't help her annoyance when he actually came back with a turtle in his jaws, pratically begging her to eat it. Irisa looked at Voronwer's wide eyes for a moment, and the huffed, reaching her mind out to Gabriel.
I'm not a nice dragon, and have never been. So why is it that I'm feeling guilty right now? Irisa huffed, then took one more look at the turtle before she decided what t do. A rumble started to resound in her throat before a spout of flame came out of her mouth, burning the poor turtle into a pile of ashes. She looked over at Voronwer with a toothy grin.
I prefer my meals well done she told him with a laugh, and then licked the ashes up. Of course, being a dragon, the ashes tasted quite good to her. They didn't taste bad at all. She shoved Voronwer playfully into the water.
