Name of your Dragon: Blaze
Age: 7
Gender: Male
Parents Kirvae and Anelie
Status: Apprentice
Rider: Illario Ceranthor
The Hatching: He could feel many presences. Never at one time, though-they came one by one, sometimes far apart, sometimes very near to one another. Each one was different...shone differently, felt differently than the next. So many he felt, and, through some primal instinct, checked them. So many he felt, but so many he turned away. Something inside of him told him to stay safe in the egg; although he was not completely aware of what was going on, he could tell that he was supposed to look for the right one-the right mind.
He thought it would never come.
But, then, one day it did. He had not expected it, but as the boy's hand brushed the egg a tremor shot through him, and he knew that this boy was the one for which he had been waiting. He pushed against the eggshell, breaking it into tiny pieces. Finally, he was out in the open, and staring up at the face that had awoken him. The little dragon snorted softly. This boy was the only one he could ever love. He knew, then and there, that he never wanted to share this boy with anyone. Never.
Personality: Blaze isn't a very fierce dragon at all. He is more of the kind that is suited to be an elder when he gets older. He is gentle and patient, and believes that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Blaze doesn't mind war, or fights, and in fact he is quite good at magic and at fighting, but his personality is more suited to times of peace than times of war. Blaze sees the good in everyone, and would help out any elf or dragon in need. Quietly respectful, Blaze has never gotten into trouble with even the grumpiest of dragons and Riders.
Blaze is very softspoken. He never shouts, he never yells; his voice is a quiet, patient baritone that holds no malice whatsoever. He loves Illario to death, and would die to protect him. However, like all dragons and Riders, Blaze has a fatal flaw: he loves Illario too much. When it comes to his Rider, Blaze would gladly die for him, and the only time Blaze looses his temper is when he feels that someone is trying to take Illario away from him. He doesn't want anyone to come between them, no matter what, and so is rather protective of his Rider. Also, he can give quite long lectures to anyone-specifically Illario-after they've done something wrong, or put themselves in danger. In those cases, Blaze can sound a lot like a chiding mother or father.
Appearance: Blaze is a large dragon. Seeing as he is still growing, he is a little out of proportions. His claws and paws are too big for the rest of his body, but he knows he'll grow into them. In the meantime, it makes him look very fierce and intimidating. All of his scales are blood red, and the only other colors on his body are his white fangs and claws and his brown-black eyes. He usually has an air of nonchalance about him, a feeling of relaxation and safety. Blaze is by no means a particularly terrifying dragon. He is more of a kind one, or, as one might say, a gentle giant. Since this is the case, he doesn't take much time in making sure his claws are sharp-rather, he makes sure his scales shine like rubies.
RP Example: The midmorning sun shone above the garden, and reflected its light against the scales of the garden's sole occupant. He had been sitting there for hours now, half sleeping, half dreaming, and showed no signs of stirring. However, as the sun reached its zenith above the dragon he yawned, and stretched his legs slowly. His blood-red scales shimmered as they moved in and out of the sun's direct light, and the large dragon turned one eye upwards to the sun.
I have been asleep too long. He thought to himself. Illario will wonder where I was. But, then again, I think I trust him not to get into any trouble while I'm gone. Blaze's stomach growled softly, and he winced. Have I really been gone that long? I just ate a little while ago! Oh well. Shrugging, the large red dragon turned towards the entrance of the garden, walking slowly until he reached it. Then, Blaze ducked his head down to stare out the entrance.
But then again...maybe I don't trust him. Ah, I'd better see what he's doing. With a heavy sigh, Blaze spread his ruby wings and rose into the air.
