Name of your Dragon: Obsidian Draumr
Age: 15..age may change to suite rider
Gender: Female
Parents Vanilor and Cheerates (hope this is fine, idk if you need permission for this sort of thing)
Status: Unknown for now
Rider: Unknown for now but hopefully someone will come along and be her rider, I don't mind who.
The Hatching: Since she has no rider yet, I will change this once she gets a rider since right now she'd be considered still in the egg since she's in the hatchery.
Personality: Obsidian is a caring individual, despite what color her scales are that usually indicate a bad temper in most. She is even tempered, usually quite calm, collected, and friendly. Obsidian is quite mature for her age and tolerates younger dragons but quick to lecture or scold them if she catches them acting out of line, much like how a mother dragon would act. She has the potential to be a well mannered teacher for when she gets older, right now that is unlikely since she is not yet an elder.
Obsidian tends to keep control of her anger but if she ever does reach boiling point, it's best to run. Even though mostly mild mannered, she can become rather vicious if ever she had the reason for it. However, when she is angry and depending on the individual she is mad at depends on her actions. If it were a younger dragon, she wouldn't harm them and if she did, it would be a minor attack like a small push to make them tip over and hold them down so that they knew she was upset with them. Adult dragons, she would treat with scathing words and if they ever pushed her far enough, maybe actually slash them with her claws but only with good reason such as them doing harm to her rider or those she is protecting at the time.
Mostly, Obsidian treats fellow dragons with respect who deserve it. She's keen enough though to give those with a mouth on them a taste of their own medicine, which can lead to conflicts. Usually, she needn't fight her fellow dragon and usually keeps to herself simply because she does not enjoy arguments and is timid for a dragon. As mentioned before, she sticks up for herself even though she has a shy nature.
When it comes to younger dragons she is usually very outgoing simply because she feels less threatened by them and can be protective of them if any older dragons were to try and do them harm. Possibly because she has strong maternal instincts which is why she's also very caring and protective of her rider. Like any parent, she would look out for the well being of mainly her rider and yes, sometimes she will give them a lecture but only in rare instances. Obsidian usually is quite mellow and lets her rider do as they wish and merely keeps an eye on them so that they do not get themselves into danger behind her back. After all, if her rider dies, so does she.
When around male dragons her age, she tends to not speak as often as she would with female dragons simply because she's not sure how to act around them and it has to do with her timid nature. If she admires one, she would admire from afar rather than near. This behavior makes her seem stuck up when in actuality, she is not. She tries to avoid being near a group of males but if her rider is among riders with a cluster of male dragons, she would stick her ground and be keen to lash out at any that try to lay a claw or tooth on her rider regardless of how strong they may be in comparison to herself.
Appearance: Obsidian's scales are pitch black but glossy. The glossy appearance of her scales have given her, her name. Her scales may not show colors like gems but they make up for it in their perfect, glossy, untainted appearance. Not a single scratch can be seen on either scale. Her underbelly scales are pure white in color much like the color of her razor sharp claws and pearly white teeth. Her eyes are a brilliant light purple, almost purple lilac in color. Her spines that run down from the tip of her head to the very tip of her tail are black as well.
She has two curved, pure white horns sticking out of her head above each temporal region forming a 'v' shape. Her build is slim and slender. However, her limbs are toned for a female dragon's and strong. She's well bult for battles in the air and can hold her own on the ground if the need be.
There is a unique scale on her forehead unlike the rest. Where all of her's are normally black, the one on her forehead is silver and has earned her, her last name. It's the only scale that shines brightly on her obsidian body.
RP Example:
Obsidian caste her eyes over the smallgroup of what she called hatchlings compared to herself. They were all so little, so inexperienced. It was only obvious that she would take such a motherly role when it came to teaching them the ways of how a bonded dragon should act. Judging by the way they easily prattled, they had much to learn. Already, she had to scold a few by pushing them down on their sides and keeping a forelimb on them gently but firmly so they couldn't get back up to make it clear she would not tolerate their sass.
Her rider had left her to it simply because they needed to be watched before the actual elder to give them their lesson for today arrived. Her rider, like her, was watching over the young riders as she watched the dragon youths.
'I am having an easy time though I had to scold a few, how are things on your end?' she spoke to her rider through their telepathic bond. Already, she could sense disconcert from her rider. Apparently, the younglings on their end weren't acting as well mannered as their dragon counterparts. 'I take it they are a rowdy bunch. Do you wish for me to go and give them a brief scare? No? Alright then!' she sat there on her glossy black haunches as she awaited the elder.
In the distance, not too far from the small enclosure of trees with the younglings, she could see a pair of dragons about her age. Her sense of smell told her the elder dragon and rider were coming but the pair of dragons were male and possibly hostile.
Standing up when they approached, she bared her teeth in warning and gave a hiss to ensure that they got the message. She would not hesitate to fight them if they dared to come any closer. It was her current duty to make sure the hatchlings, as well as the younger riders and her own rider, were safe.
